Welcome to Reading Guild. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Reading Guild mobile application (the "App"), operated by Aristhomene Enterprises LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information during registration and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at privacy@readingguild.com.
You agree not to use the App to:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, at our sole discretion.
You retain ownership of the content you create in the App (posts, comments, chat messages, reading lists). By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute your content within the App for the purpose of operating the service.
You are solely responsible for the content you post. We do not endorse or guarantee the accuracy of any user content. We may remove content that violates these Terms or that we determine is harmful, at our discretion.
Book clubs within the App are created and managed by users. Club admins are responsible for managing their clubs, including approving membership requests and moderating content within their clubs. We are not responsible for the actions of club admins or members.
The App, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Aristhomene Enterprises LLC and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Book metadata (titles, authors, covers, descriptions) is provided by the Google Books API and remains the property of its respective owners.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the App without our written permission.
The App may send push notifications to your device for club activity such as replies, mentions, and membership updates. You can control notification preferences within the App's settings. You can also disable push notifications at the device level through your operating system settings.
You may delete your account at any time from the App's settings screen. Account deletion is permanent and will remove your profile, reading list, and club memberships. Some content you posted (such as chat messages) may be retained in anonymized form to preserve conversation context for other members. The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We make no warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of any content obtained through the App.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aristhomene Enterprises LLC and its officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or damages resulting from user content or interactions.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, as the App is free, is zero).
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Aristhomene Enterprises LLC from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the App, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using the App and delete your account.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State in which Aristhomene Enterprises LLC is registered, without regard to conflict of law principles.
